How DeSci could help finance early-intervention research
Early intervention in psychosis is scientifically important and structurally awkward for classic venture timelines. DeSci does not replace pharmaceutical governance — but it may widen who can sit in a private, ring-fenced financing conversation.
The funding gap
CHR-P programmes ask long, careful questions. Endpoints can be slow and enrichment-sensitive. That profile often sits poorly with funds that need short, binary “win” narratives. The result: good science can stall for lack of catalytic capital, not lack of importance.
What a DeSci-aligned approach could add
- Access to newer capital constituencies (including crypto-native family offices and mission-aligned DeSci investors) alongside specialist life-sciences capital
- Transparent, programme-specific use of proceeds
- An enforceable investor register first; optional permissioned on-chain representation later — never a DEX or retail mint as the funding path
Hard boundaries
- NWPharmaTech remains pharmaceutical sponsor — clinical decisions are not token-voted
- No parent-company equity sale under this mandate
- Families and patients are never routed into capital funnels
- Public site: education and updates only; financing inactive until legal and operational activation
Meaningful participation without a wallet
Today: follow updates, send research or press enquiries, read the science library, critique our communications. Tomorrow (if financing proceeds): only legally eligible counterparties via a private process — separate from supporter registration.
